About Me

I am a licensed Mental Health Counselor(LMHC) in the state of Florida.  My certification in addiction is through the Florida Certifiction Board.  In addition, I am DOT qualified to provide services as a Substance Abuse Professional (SAP).

Prior to becoming a licensed counselor, I had 30 years in government service.  In 2001, I received my Chemical Dependency certification.  Since then, I have worked in a progressive number of positions providing professional drug and alcohol services in Connecticut and Florida.   My clinical experience in the chemical dependency field includes my having worked as a treatment counselor at both inpatient facilities and outpatient treatment agencies, an inpatient treatment discharge specialist, and as the clinical supervisor in Medication-Assisted Treatment.  My primary direction as a counselor was group and individual work with adults and as an assessor.

In 2010, I began to move into private practice as a Licensed Alcohol and Drug Counselor in Connecticut. In 2014, I moved to Florida and returned to school to become a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and became a Department of Transportation qualified SAP in 2017.  The focus of my work is to provide substance abuse assessments to employees subject to the Department of Transportation drug and alcohol regulations and to non-DOT employees subject to company drug-free workplace requirements.  To date, I have completed over 500 cases.
